On Friday, March 20, at 6 p.m., Kai Laxa, a former Junipero Serra High School standout, and his current college team, the Pepperdine Waves, fell 9-8 to the Saint Mary’s Gaels in their NCAA Division I baseball game.
Louis Guisto Field served as the venue for this contest, marking the teams’ initial matchup of the season.
Laxa contributed one hit from four at-bats, tallying one run scored and one strikeout.
The Waves are set to play the Gaels again at Louis Guisto Field on Saturday, March 21.
