On Sunday, March 16, former Junipero Serra High School standout Jake Downing’s current college team, the Cal Poly Mustangs, won 9-0 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Long Beach State Beach.
The game took place at Bohl Diamond at Blair Field. This was their third matchup against the Beach this season.
The Mustangs’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 21 at 6 p.m. at Baggett Stadium against Oregon State Beavers.

Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
These former San Mateo County area high school standouts will be competing during the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
