On Sunday, March 23, former Junipero Serra High School standout Tyler Shaw’s current college team, the Villanova Wildcats, won 10-5 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Wofford Terriers.
The game took place at Russell C. King Field. This was their third matchup against the Terriers this season.
The Wildcats’ next game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25 at 3 p.m. at Bob Reed Field against Delaware State Hornets.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
These former San Mateo County area high school standouts will be competing during the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
