On Saturday, April 12, former South San Francisco High School standout Lafulafu Malepeai’s current college team, the Sacramento State Hornets, won 5-1 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Northern Colorado Bears.
The game took place at Shea Stadium. This was their fifth matchup against the Bears this season.
The Hornets’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 18 at 12 p.m. at Shea Stadium against Weber State Wildcats.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
These former San Mateo County area high school standouts will be competing during the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
