On Friday, May 16, former Aragon High School standout Megan Grant’s current collegiate team the UCLA Bruins won 9-1 against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship.
The game took place at Easton Stadium at 4:35 p.m. and was the first matchup against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos in the tournament.
The UCLA Bruins’ next game will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 2 p.m. at Easton Stadium.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
These former San Mateo County area high school standouts will be competing during the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
