On Monday, April 14, former Menlo-Atherton High School standout John Quinlan’s current college team, the Cornell Big Red, lost 16-1 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Penn Quakers.
The game took place at Hoy Field. This was their third matchup against the Quakers this season.
The Big Red’s next game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Bearcats Baseball Complex against Binghamton Bearcats.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
These former San Mateo County area high school standouts will be competing during the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
