On Saturday, March 22, former Sequoia High School standout Talia Tokheim’s current college team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, won 8-3 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
The game took place at Bowlin Stadium. This was their second matchup against the Golden Gophers this season.
The Cornhuskers’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, March 23 at 12 p.m. at Bowlin Stadium against Minnesota Golden Gophers.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
These former San Mateo County area high school standouts will be competing during the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
