On Saturday, May 3, former Menlo-Atherton High School standout Dani Koo’s current college team, the Georgetown Hoyas, won 3-0 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the DePaul Blue Demons.
The game took place at Washington Nationals Youth Academy. This was their third matchup against the Blue Demons this season.
It was the last Georgetown Hoyas’ game this season
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
These former San Mateo County area high school standouts will be competing during the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
