On Tuesday, April 22, former Carlmont High School standout Jack Vanoncini’s current college team, the San Jose State Spartans, lost 3-2 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the San Francisco Dons.
The game took place at Benedetti Diamond. This was their fourth matchup against the Dons this season.
The Spartans’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 25 at 6 p.m. at Santa Ana Star Field against New Mexico Lobos.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
These former San Mateo County area high school standouts will be competing during the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
