Washington, D.C. – Congressman Kevin Mullin (CA-15) announced his opposition to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2024 due to the inclusion of extreme MAGA provisions that would harm service members and their families, specifically people of color, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals.

“Extreme MAGA Republicans have taken a must-pass, historically bipartisan bill and used it to wage their unpopular and divisive culture wars. Make no mistake, Republicans have manufactured this unprecedented situation and jeopardized our national security and service members in the process,” Mullin said. “Using the NDAA to advance attacks on people of color, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals is shameful. The inclusion of hyper-partisan provisions limiting access to reproductive health care are unacceptable and risk the lives of women and dependents in the military. It’s a sad day when members of Congress use the NDAA to wage an assault on the rights of service members who have bravely fought for our nation.”
