On Sunday, April 13, former Burlingame High School standout Sydney Fleming’s current college team, the Williams Ephs, won 4-3 in their NCAA Division III softball game against the Tufts Jumbos.
The game took place at Cole Field. This was their second matchup against the Jumbos this season.
The Ephs’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, April 19 at 12 p.m. at Wesleyan Softball Field against Wesleyan Cardinals.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
These former San Mateo County area high school standouts will be competing during the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
