On Saturday, March 15, former Aragon High School standout Ty Barrango’s current college team, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, won 11-1 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Georgia Southern Eagles.
The game took place at Springs Brooks Stadium. This was their third matchup against the Eagles this season.
The Chanticleers’ next game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18 at 6 p.m. at Jim Perry Stadium against Campbell Fighting Camels.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
These former San Mateo County area high school standouts will be competing during the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
