City of Menlo Park issued the following announcement on Nov 23.
The City Council recently approved a professional services agreement with HdL’s ECONSolutions Division to provide several economic development services.
The agreement includes access to HdL’s INSIGHT Market Analytics package that provides consumer demographics, household segmentation, an employment profile, and consumer demand and market supply assessment (gap analysis). Also included is an economic recovery action plan to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, a market study for downtown, and economic development staffing services.
“Our small businesses are the backbone of our local economy,” said Mayor Cecilia Taylor. “I’m proud that so many business owners and community members have come together to work with the Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Business Alliance and our city staff. This addition of HdL’s economic development services and expertise at this critical time demonstrates our city’s commitment to local businesses.”
HdL Companies, based in Brea, California, with a Bay Area office in Pleasanton, started in 1983. The company serves more than 400 local governments with services related to sales tax, property tax, business license, software development, economic development and cannabis.
Angela Tsui, a senior adviser at HdL, will work with city staff, the Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Business Alliance and other key stakeholders to identify and advance local economic development opportunities. Ms. Tsui has more than 20 years of experience working in economic development, most recently for the cities of Fremont and Cupertino.
