A Trump supporter has written an opinion piece on The Daily Journal calling out media moguls for limiting the number of articles on their platforms that supported Donald Trump. He said that this exercise in censorship is a breach on First Amendment rights and that it should serve as a wake-up call for fellow Trump supporters to fight back.
Dirk van Ulden, the author of the article, added that The New York Times found no evidence that those media moguls were barring Trump supporters and other readers from accessing articles that showed the positive side of the former president. Van Ulden said that the movement to censor them is real and needs to be thwarted.
The author went further and said that censoring Trump supporters has similarities to the birth of the Nazi party. He quoted Adolf Hitler’s statement: “…The Movement will in the future ruthlessly prevent — if necessary by force — all meetings or lectures that are likely to distract the minds of our fellow countrymen.”
Van Ulden said that the cancel culture and shaming of Trump supporters are akin to the repressive tactics of the Nazi party on their German citizens. He ended the piece with a call to action from his fellow supporters.
Other individuals who might share van Ulden’s sentiments are Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and author Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
DeSantis criticized the liberals’ aggressive calls for censoring Trump supporters, saying that silencing them is a “political manipulation.” Kennedy had a front-row seat to the cancel culture show when Instagram banned him from its platform. Kennedy criticized the move as well and said that it was “counter productive.”
